For Mrs. Hoseney's Class - Polar Express Day - January 4th

I hope you are all enjoying these last days before the holiday.  Our elf, Shenanigans, left a copy of the Polar Express movie for the boys and girls.  We will be celebrating Polar Express Day on our first day back from break - January 4, 2016.

The boys and girls may wear their pajamas to school.  In addition, they may bring a pillow, stuffed animal or blanket.  If they would like to wear their slippers while in the classroom they may, but regular shoes and outdoor clothing are also needed.

It's Hootenany Time!

Students in Mrs. Null's class participated in a short performance yesterday called, "It's Hootenany Time". This performance highlighted some of the facts we learned about owls. One fact we learned is that owls are not wise birds at all. They actually have small brains because their eyes take up most of the space in their skulls.

Mrs. Null's class had some fun retelling the story of the Five Little Pumpkins.

Apple Day

Yesterday we had Apple Day. The students enjoyed peeling and cutting apples to make our own applesauce. The room smelled amazing by the end of the day! Students also completed a science experiment about keeping apples from turning brown. They measured with apples, did apple math and made a book to help them practice reading the color words we have learned. Here is the link to the photos I took. Enjoy!

Grandparent/Special Person Day

Good Citizen video

Our class recently completed a unit of learning about qualities of good citizens. We have modeled and practiced how to be good citizens. Here is the link to a video I made while we practiced.
